Blackboard Access Instructions

Accessing a Bethel course on Blackboard:

1. Courses that instructors make available on Bethel University's Learning Management system, Blackboard can be accessed at

   http://blackboard.bethel.edu/

   or using the QuickLinks on the Bethel Home Page at

   http://www.bethel.edu, or via the Blackboard icon in BLink, http://blink.bethel.edu.
   
   Do not make shortcuts or bookmarks to any other page in Blackboard as they will not work later.

2. Using your web browser [Internet Explorer (Windows only), Mozilla Firefox (recommended), and Safari are compatible Browsers] go to http://blackboard.bethel.edu.

3. Click on Login button (If you do not have a Bethel Account, then click the Bethel Account link or on the next screen click the "Log in as guest" or "Problems logging in?" link.)

   

   The Bethel Authentication System window appears and you should  enter your Bethel Net ID (ex: doejan, jed12345...) in the Username box, and your Bethel Account Password in the Password box.  If you start from BLink, you should be able to skip the Login process.
   

   Note: If you cannot log in then click on the Problems logging in link at the bottom of the window, the Bethel account link on the Blackboard gateway page, or go to the Bethel Accounts page at: https://directory.bethel.edu/account/ and choose one of the following links:

   • Sign Up for New Account - use this link to create a new account
   • Change My Password - use this link if you know your password
   • Reset my Password - Use this link if you have forgotten or don't know your password.
     

4. After successfully logging into Blackboard you come to your home page called My Bethel Blackboard. As you look around the page, you will see a box entitled My Courses. The course you are wanting to access (and any other Blackboard course in which you are enrolled) will be listed there. Clicking on the course will get you to the course pages.***Note:  Your Blackboard courses may not appear in your Courses in which you are participating list until the following morning after you have created your Bethel Community User Account and will show up in your list ONLY if the instructor has made the course available to students.
   
   

   
5. Explore the course pages and the other features of Blackboard.
