Instructions on how to create a new exam in Blackboard 7
| Step 1. Go to the Control Panel |

| Step 2. Go to the Content Area where you want to deploy the exam. You may create an Exam Area for your course by going to the Course Options area and selecting the Manage Course Menu link. |

Step 3. Click on the Add Test button: Click the Create button in the "Create a new test:" area. Fill in the Name, Description, and Instructions for the new exam.

Step 4. Select the Creation Settings link on the "Test Canvas" page . If you want to provide feedback for individual answers or set the default point value then check the appropriate box. You can access these settings later via the link on the Test Canvas page. |

| Step 5: On the Test Canvas page select the question type that you want to add from the Add Question pull down menu and then click the GO button. Fill in the Question Text, and Answers as appropriate. Continue adding questions or selecting new question types and adding until you are done. Then click the OK button. (Note: If you have a pool of questions in the Pool Manager, you can select the From a Question Pool or Assessment choice to put your choice of questions from the pool into your assessment. ) |

| Step 6. Once you submit your created test, it will then return you to the Add Test page, where you select your test from the list and submit. |

| Step 7. On the Modify Test page, select the "Modify the test options" link. Then on the Test Options page select the options that you wish for the assessment. You MUST check the "Do you want to make the link visible?" radio button for students to be able to access your assessment. Be certain that if you check the "Display Until" checkbox, that you change the date to an appropriate date in the future. Set remaining options for Test Availability, Test Feedback, Test Presentation and then click the Submit button. |
