The Survey Canvas

Before we get into the details of the Survey Canvas please notice that there is a Link called Creation Settings next to the dropdown box.

This Link will take us to a page where we can do some Global modifications to our Survey.

Feel free to experiment with the various settings.  The checks you see here are the default, and for our Survey we will stick with the Default Settings.  Please press Cancel or Submit to return to the Survey Canvas.

You see that there are MANY options that are available.  
The table below helps us to understand what each of the choices provides.
Take a few minutes to view all the variety that is available.

Calculated Formlua Question	Add question text that includes variables in square brackets [x] corresponding to variables in the formula that will be used to calculate the answer to this question. Answers are not part of the formula because answer sets are automatically calculated. Click Next after completing the fields on this page to calculate answer sets and provide response feedback.
Numeric Answer Question (Calculated Numeric)	Add the question text, point value, numeric answer, and the correct answer range, which is the correct answer plus or minus a specified number. Leave the answer range field blank if the numeric answer must be exact to be correct.
Either/Or Question	Add the question text and point value, then indicate the correct answer. Provide feedback for user responses.
Essay Question	Add the question text, point value, and an example of a correct answer.
File Response Question	Add the question text and point value for this question. When users take the assessment, they will be asked to upload a file as a response.
Fill in Multiple Blanks Question	Add question text that includes up to 10 variables in square brackets [x] corresponding to locations in the text where the fill in the blank fields should appear. Variables must be unique and cannot be reused. Click Next after completing the fields on this page to specify answers.
Fill in the Blank Question	Add the question text and point value, then add answers for all possible correct responses. Provide feedback for user responses.
Hot Spot Question	Add the question text, set the point value, and upload an image file that will be used for specifying a hot spot answer. Click Next after completing the fields on this page to continue building this question and provide response feedback.
Jumbled Sentence Question	Add question text that includes variables in square brackets [x] corresponding to locations in the text where the drop-down list of answers should appear. Variable names must be unique and cannot be reused. Click Next after completing the fields on this page to specify correct answers.
Matching Question	Add the question text, the set of items, and matching responses in display order.
Multiple Answer Question	Add the question text, then set the point value and the number of answers. Add the answer choices, indicate the correct answers, and provide feedback for user responses.
Multiple Choice Question	Add the question text, then set the point value and the number of answers. Add the answer choices, indicate the correct answer, and provide feedback for user responses.
Opinion Scale/Likert Question	Add the question text, then set the point value and the number of answers. Add the answer choices, indicate the correct answer, and provide feedback for user responses.
Ordering Question	Add the question text, set the point value, then add the answers in the correct order. Click Next to set the display order for the answers and provide feedback for user responses.
Quiz Bowl Question	Quiz Bowl questions require the answer to be in the form of a question. Specify one or more interrogatives and one or more phrases that must be included in the answer.
Short Answer Question	Add the question text, point value, and an example of a correct answer.
True/False Question	Add the question text and point value, then indicate the correct answer. Provide feedback for user responses.

As you can see there are many Choices, and many of them are not really applicable to a Survey (but they are Perfect for a Quiz as we discussed earlier). I would like you to play around with the options that are available.  For our Survey we will just sample a couple of them.
