Bekah Dennison was recently named a semi-finalist for the nationally prestigious Presidential Scholarship. The application for the scholarship is by invitation-only, given to students who have received top scores on their ACT/SAT testing. Out of 3,300 students, 550 were chosen as semi-finalists.

Presidential Scholars are recognized for their outstanding achievement in college admissions testing and receive a trip to Washington, D.C., where they meet government officials, scientists, and other people of influence. The weekend culminates with an award ceremony where the scholars are honored with a medallion.

Dennison is one of only nine Minnesota semi-finalists. She currently attends Bethel as part of the Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program, and will continue at Bethel after graduating from high school this spring. “I felt very strongly about wanting to come to a place that honors faith and God as an important aspect of intelligence and learning in academics,” she says. “Ultimately I know what really matters is my relationship with God and with others.”
