Bethel Holds Commencement Ceremonies for Adult Students

Bethel University held commencement ceremonies for the College of Adult & Professional Studies, Graduate School, and Bethel Seminary St. Paul on June 1 for 421 graduates. Additional ceremonies were held for 35 Bethel Seminary San Diego students on June 8 and 15 Bethel Seminary of the East students on June 15.

David Horsager ’95, G’04, author of the national bestseller The Trust Edge: How Top Leaders Gain Faster Results, Deeper Relationships, and a Stronger Bottom Line, was this year’s commencement speaker for the College of Adult & Professional Studies and Graduate School ceremonies.

Jerry Sheveland, president of Converge Worldwide, spoke during the ceremony for Bethel Seminary St. Paul with a talk entitled, “Our Antioch Moment,” based on Acts 11:19-26. Timothy J. Winters, senior pastor of Bayview Baptist Church in San Diego, gave an address titled, “When You Go to Battle,” based on Deuteronomy 20:1-4, during the Bethel Seminary San Diego ceremony. Stanley R. Allaby, professor of homiletics at Bethel Seminary of the East and pastor emeritus of Black Rock Congregational Church in Fairfield, Conn., delivered the commencement address “A Godly Jealousy” to Bethel Seminary of the East graduates.

In December 2012, 289 students graduated from Bethel University’s traditional and adult programs, bringing the total to 1,325 graduates this academic year.
