Bethel Student Adds His Voice to Black History

On February 1, Bethel University sociocultural studies major Justin Giuliano ’15 started the Twitter hashtag #BlackHistoryYouDidntLearnInSchool to celebrate forgotten African-American historical figures. What started as a series of tweets about one individual has exploded into hundreds of responses using the same hashtag. Giuliano has added a new story daily since February 1, continuing to tweet about other individuals and events that have shaped black history in America. His efforts were recently featured on PBS News Hour in a report on the next generation of black voices.
