Orientation

As soon as you get to Minnesota, we want to welcome you to Bethel and help you get settled.

One-on-One Orientation

To get set up at Bethel, all international students must schedule a time to meet with Carol Chang for a one-on-one orientation. Please bring your passport to your orientation meeting.

At your orientation, Carol will:

  • Register you in Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) database.
  • Help you to understand the federal regulations regarding how to maintain legal status as an international student in the U.S.
  • Talk about banking information, on/off campus employment, health insurance, and information regarding social security card and driver's license.

Mu Kappa Orientation

If you’re a student in the College of Arts & Sciences, you’ll be part of the Mu Kappa Orientation (pdf) program during Welcome Week. Right away your first morning, Mu Kappa leaders and other Bethel students will greet you and help you to move into your residence hall.

Throughout the rest of orientation, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other new international students and third culture students, as well as staff, faculty, and Bethel students.

Our goal is to provide opportunities for you to build strong friendships and connections in the Bethel community so that you can transition through the culture shock with the support from the people that you meet at the orientation.

Mu Kappa Student Club

Mu Kappa is a student club (pdf) sponsored by Bethel Student Association (BSA). Mu Kappa leaders meet every other Thursday to plan activities for third culture students and international students enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences.
