Visioning Sessions for Campus Master Plan 2.0

February 6, 2014

Colleagues:

In 2011 and 2012, we spent several months developing a Campus Master Plan. Since then, much has changed. The purchase of the Pine Tree property gives us the opportunity to address many of the pressing needs we identified in a different way – much sooner, with much less money, and a challenge to our current way of doing things.

As the Pine Tree purchase was finalized, we said that we'd conduct a planning project that would include broad involvement from the Bethel community. Therefore, we are launching the Campus Master Plan 2.0 project. The objective of this project is to re-imagine how to meet our space needs as Bethel goes into the future, particularly in light of the Pine Tree property. We want to invite your input into this process. We have asked Credo - our campus planning partner - to work with us to facilitate visioning sessions with faculty and staff. Your input will be used as we update our Campus Master Plan and develop scenarios for how the Pine Tree property might be used.

So that we can plan accordingly, please RSVP to for one of the following visioning sessions:

• Monday, Feb. 17, from 11:10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Monday, Feb. 17, from 2:50-4:10 p.m.
• Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 8:30-10 a.m.
• Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

All sessions will be held in the Olson Boardroom on the 4th level of Brushaber Commons.

We realize these times may cut across mods, so please come for whatever time your schedule permits.

Non-exempt (hourly) employees should count this time as hours worked on their time sheets. I hope that you are able to join us for one of these sessions.

You are also invited to an open house at Pine Tree on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 3-4:30 p.m. You will have an opportunity to see the building and go on a short tour through the space we are already using for CAPS/GS.

Serving Together,
Jay
