Strategic Coalition Project Update

July 14, 2014 | 11 a.m.

The strategic coalition project is well underway at Bethel. Since our message to you on May 5, the strategic coalition team met for a two-day meeting. Subgroups of the strategic coalition are working on follow-up assignments generated by the first meeting and the organizing team is meeting weekly by phone. Faculty members from each school are members of the strategic coalition along with Board of Trustee members and senior administrators.

After examining various data trends from Bethel and the higher education marketplace in our initial meeting, the team understands now more than ever that our work to develop a vision and set of strategic objectives to guide the university over the next 10 years is vital for the future of Bethel University. To keep you informed throughout the process, we have launched a project webpage on the president’s website. We encourage you to participate by reading the resources we have posted online and suggesting additional materials that could be helpful for the coalition team to consider. We will update the project page regularly with meeting summaries and additional resources for the community. We will notify you periodically by email when there are significant updates on the webpage.

Board member Pastor Michael Henderson is leading a team of trustee members in daily prayer for the project and for Bethel. We ask for your prayers also as well as your support as we continue our work to chart a course for sustainable success in fulfillment of Bethel's mission.
