As part of our Moving the Needle project, we will partner with a skilled team from Credo (formerly Performa Higher Education), to conduct qualitative and quantitative research in addition to helping us map out action items for improving student success and retention. Joretta Nelson, Ph.D.
Vice President / Owner
Joretta has been in higher education and consulting for more than 27 years. Prior to joining Credo she served on the senior teams at Brevard College and Union College in addition to previous positions as a faculty member at Hope International University. Joretta’s research in the area of student success has resulted in a comprehensive set of services designed to increase retention rates and student success. Joretta earned a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, graduate coursework at California State University at Fullerton, and a Ph.D. from Azusa Pacific University. Joretta serves as Vice President and Owner at Credo and leads the area of student success.
Dean Rodeheaver, Ph.D.
Senior Campus Planner/Owner
Dean has been in higher education and consulting for more than 28 years. Prior to joining Credo Dean served as Assistant Chancellor for Planning and Budget at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. In this position Dean served as the fifth ranking officer of the university and coordinated institutional resource and facilities planning, developed information in support of decision making, developed planning and operating resource calendars and processes and advised the Chancellor and others who were delegated on matters of strategic direction. Dean also taught Human Development at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and served as the first campus sustainability coordinator. Dean earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from West Virginia University. Dean serves as Senior Campus Planner and Owner at Credo and leads efforts related to campus master planning, optimizing space use, and instructional space planning and atmospherics assessments.
Jennifer McCluskey, Ph.D.
Affiliate, Academic Affairs
Jennifer has more than 16 years of higher education experience in academic affairs and student success and retention. She has consulted on first-year seminar development, academic advising, retention initiatives, and building synergy between enrollment, academic, and student affairs. She has facilitated regional, national, and international conference presentations on student retention, student success, students in transition, peer leader programs, and action research projects. Jennifer has worked on staff at various institutions including the University of Denver, Arkansas State University, and Quinnipiac University. Currently, she is Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Assistant Professor of Education, and Director of the Center for Academic Success & First-Year Experience at Maryville University in Saint Louis. In these roles, she leads the retention efforts and academic advising center, oversees and teaches in the University Seminar and Peer Mentor courses, and champions the efforts created to assist students in transition at Maryville. Jennifer received her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Missouri at Saint Louis. She earned her master's degree in College Student Personnel from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and her bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from Southeast Missouri State University.
Ann Highum, Ph.D.
Ann has more than 20 years of higher education experience. She currently serves as the Vice President and Dean of Student Life at luther College. In her current role, Ann provides leadership and direction for the Student Life Division, which includes the following offices: Campus Recreational Sports and Intramural Programs, Career Center, Counseling, Diversity Center, The Nena Amundson Lifetime Wellness Program, Residence Life, Safety and Security, Student Activities and College Union, Student Health Service, Student Life Office, and Upward Bound.
Senior Affiliate Consultant
David Mee currently services as the Associate Provost and Dean of Enrollment Services at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. David has more than 25 years of experience in enrollment management. Previously, he spent five years building a solid and successful package of services and tools for Performa Higher Education and partnered with more than 100 private colleges during his tenure; served as Vice President for Enrollment Management at Milligan College, overseeing undergraduate and graduate admission, as well as retention programming; and served as Director of Admission at Samford University and Houghton College. His expertise in the foundational issues of enrollment management has given him the unique tools and skill sets necessary to assist clients in building for sustained enrollment growth. David earned his master’s from Indiana Wesleyan University and a B.A. in Communication and Writing from Houghton College.
Geneve “Evie” R. Telfer
Evie has been in higher education since 1993. She currently serves as Associate College Pastor at Messiah College in Pennsylvania. In this position, she works with pastoral staff to plan and implement Common Chapel services for 2,800 students, supervises 2 teams of student ministry leaders, provides pastoral care and leads cross-cultural service-learning trips as necessary. Throughout her tenure at Messiah, Evie has taught master’s level courses in courses in counseling and campus ministry as well as undergraduate level courses in interdisciplinary studies and general education. In addition, she has conducted workshops and presentations with an emphasis on the student experience as it relates to spiritual formation. Prior to her work at Messiah, Evie worked at the Wesley Foundation at Texas Tech University as Associate Director. She received her M.S. in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola College in Maryland, her M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky and her B.A. in English from Vanderbuilt University
Marketing Consultant/ Director of Client Services
Jennifer brings 18 years of enrollment management and marketing experience to her role as Marketing Consultant. Previously, she served as Associate Director of Undergraduate Admission at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. Jennifer also served as Account Manager at Richard Harrison Bailey/The Agency in Indianapolis, IN. In her role at Credo, Jennifer oversees the coordination of customized consulting and marketing solutions for the firm’s college and university clients. She also serves as an occasional member of the enrollment solutions team. Jennifer received her B.A. degree in communication arts and public relations from George Fox University in Newberg, OR.
