A newsletter for parents of Bethel University students
Here’s some encouraging news: according to U.S. News & World Report, Bethel University’s tuition is the fourth lowest in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
But college tuition is far from cheap. The generosity of Bethel’s friends reduces the financial burden, both through donations and by endowing scholarships for students in need.

Set up in memory of Thomas Kirk Anderson ‘73, this scholarship
is awarded to business majors based upon financial need. Tom
Anderson excelled at financial planning.
In 2005, shortly before dying of cancer, he established a scholarship to help Bethel business students. Penny (Watkins) Anderson ’73 notes that her husband had hoped to someday teach at Bethel. The family’s ties to the school are strong: all four of the Anderson children have attended Bethel (two are current students), as did Tom’s siblings.
Erin Severson ’08
Business Major (emphasis in accounting and finance)
Received the Thomas K. Anderson Memorial Scholarship and Edith Holm Scholarship Fund
“I greatly appreciate any and all special scholarships received from Bethel alumni and other givers. Without their generous donations, I would not have been able to pay for all four years of my education at Bethel. It is a true blessing.”
