Prayer Teams & Locations

Prayer team leaders and members are individuals with various Bethel connections: family related to current and former students, alumni, and friends. Our prayer team leaders range from young hockey moms to grandparents of current students. Here is a sampling:

At a recent Bethel event, Marie Schultz, former co-chair of the National Prayer Initiative, connected with Rod and Gwen Larson, co-chairs of the Presidential Prayer Council. Many prayer groups come together to pray for Bethel.

Eleven are retired pastors, many of whom continue to be involved in ministry, and one is a seminary student.
Two members are former deans of Bethel Seminary, and one is a former university trustee.
A grandson of the late Bethel President Henry Wingblade numbers among the leaders, as do several former Bethel employees.
One team is led by a former Bethel basketball star, another by a KTIS broadcaster.
Another team leader works with the Evelyn Christenson prayer ministry
Many participants are recent alums, and others are educators and Minnesota “snowbirds” who may reside in warmer climates but their hearts remain at Bethel.
Several groups were already part of a small prayer group in their church and simply added Prayer Points.
One team leader enlists his Sunday school class to pray for Bethel once a month.

All members are busy, but have made a commitment to take time to meet and pray for Bethel.
