Extra Holiday Time

Colleagues: 

We recognize that this fall has been difficult. For many, spending time with family and friends is refreshing during challenging times. To foster more time with loved ones, Cabinet is adding two additional holidays for the 2018-2019 year. First, for the Thanksgiving break, we are adding Wednesday, November 21, as an additional holiday. Second, in order to provide staff members with a long Fourth of July holiday weekend, we are adding Friday, July 5, as a holiday. 

The campus will be closed on both November 21 and July 5. Non-exempt employees should mark these additional days on the holiday column on their time sheets. Exempt employees need not report these additional days.

While we are not able to promise these types of extra holidays in future years, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide extra time off this year. We are hopeful that this advanced notice will be helpful for you as you make your plans.
