San Diego Donors Step Up to Expand Seminary

New Building Drive on Schedule

Bethel Seminary San Diego is nearing the finish line in a capital campaign to complete a $5.3 million expansion and remodeling project. As of December 2007, a total of $700,000 in new commitments had been made in addition to the initial lead gifts that launched the campaign. With only about $500,000 to go, breaking ground for construction in June ’08 is an exciting possibility.

The planned project will enlarge the seminary’s space by 70 percent and triple the size of its current chapel/auditorium—a crucial asset in the effective outreach work Bethel Seminary is doing in the San Diego community. Currently, there are 275 students, plus faculty and administration using a facility built for 250. Relieving congestion is a goal of the project, with expanded classrooms, a lounge, and other student space designed to accommodate an anticipated doubling in enrollment.

When the Lord leads an effort, nothing is impossible. Thanks to Him, friends who understand the importance of providing a world-class seminary education to the Southwest U.S. and the Pacific Rim region have stepped up and given from their hearts.
