University Fills Administrative Roles

Volume 22 No 2 | Spring 2009

Bethel University has made several new appointments in recent months, including:

Dan Nelson

Dan Nelson

Vice President for Admissions, Financial Aid, and Retention

Nelson has served Bethel in a variety of capacities for more than 30 years, most recently as assistant to the president for financial aid, enrollment, institutional research, and planning.

According to Bethel University President Jay Barnes, “Dan’s skills in marshalling and analyzing data, tracking enrollment, and developing creative approaches to financial aid have enabled Bethel to make good strategic decisions that have allowed the school to grow during times of demographic challenges in prospective student populations. In his new role, he will bring his considerable skills to a university-wide responsibility, working with admissions offices, overseeing financial aid, and leading an effort across all schools to recruit and retain students and enable timely completion of their academic program.”

She also has six years of experience as a Bethel trustee, serving on both the business affairs committee and the executive committee.

Bethel University President Jay Barnes notes that Nelson brings “a broad perspective on financial issues based on her extensive professional experience and academic credentials.”
