God Has a Sense of Humor

Linda

As an R.N. in a trauma center, life and death come at you fast; the last thing a nurse here thinks about is long-term care. There was a time in Linda’s career when she promised herself, “I’ll do anything but long-term care.” Funny how things change. She met some nursing instructors from Bethel and was impressed with their commitment to the whole person. While pursuing her B.S. in nursing at Bethel, she considered the spiritual needs of the aging population. Slowly she came around to the idea. “If you’re interested in the spiritual aspects of nursing, a place that combines medical science with whole person care, Bethel’s the place.”

Once Linda completed her B.S. in nursing, she continued to pursue her masters in nursing. She has a passion for long-term care, parish nursing, and speaks about elder care. How does Linda account for the change of heart? She laughs and says, “It just shows that God has a sense of humor.”
