Toke
“I’ve always felt called to teach young people — it’s my passion,” says Toke. She did just that for years in her home country of Nigeria, but a series of events rapidly changed into an unanticipated adventure. Far away from home and looking for a place for her family, she held on to the Psalm 23 verse, “I shall not want.”
A kind person with a Bethel connection helped with some immediate needs and suggested she return to school for her M.A. in Teaching. As part of a cohort, she smiles and says, “My cohort group has been so warm and encouraging!”
As she finishes her M.A. and fully realizes her ambition of teaching, she looks back gratefully. “The Lord fostered His power, showing me how mighty He is,” she says. Finding a home and earning her degree are things Toke thought were not possible a few years ago. God had other plans.
