After living in Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa for most of his life, Jonathan was hesitant to attend college in the U.S. “I was a long way from friends and family, so I threw myself into the Bethel community, joined the rugby team, was involved with student senate, and really found my place here. ” It was the community that gave Jonathan a change of heart about college.

“Bethel is the kind of community that gives you room to stretch out, be yourself; it's a place where people come together as a body." Jonathan is passionate about humanitarian relief, and has found it encouraging that there are others at Bethel who share his passion. ” It's really great to see people who want to change the world in faraway places, as well as the world right around them."
