To create a heatmap test using Crazy Egg.

To start a new heatmap test

Silva

1. Go to the webpage you would like to test.

2. Edit the webpage and go to the properties tab.

   1. Under 'Web Page Analysis', heat mapping, select on from the dropdown.  Save and publish the webpage.

**This places the necessary javascript on the webpage.

Crazy Egg

1. Go to the Crazy Egg website and log in.
2. In the dashboard, click the button labeled, 'Add New Snapshot'.
3. Fill out the page with all the information needed and click save.
4. Verify you have the correct page.
5. If you choose to follow the 'check if you have crazy egg installed correctly' link, be aware the page only displays something if crazy egg is NOT installed correctly.  No confirmation is given if crazy egg is correctly installed.
6. Back on the dashboard you should see that your newly created snapshot has the status of running.
7. After a short wait you should see a picture snapshot of the webpage.
8. After about 2 hrs you should start to see results.

When the heatmap test is complete

Crazy Egg

1. At the Crazy Egg website, verify that the heatmap snapshot has a status of stopped.

1. Edit the webpage and go to the properties tab.

   1. Under 'Web Page Analysis', heat mapping, select off from the dropdown.  Save and publish the webpage.
