Calendar Submission Standards

Below is a running list of submission standards and practices

URLs:

  • Must contain http://

Locations:

  • Rooms in the Saint Paul Academic Complex should be listed as building abbreviation space room number. (ie CC 313 or CLC 109)

  • Locations requiring city and state should be listed as Location (City, ST)

Times:

  • Time information should be removed

  • School Event (CAS Fall Semester Begins, CAS Thanksgiving Break, CAS Final Exams, CAS Classes Resume, Last Day of Interim Classes, Last Day of Fall Semester Classes, etc.)

Admissions-CAS:

Times:

  • End times should be included if known

  • First option:

    • Include the specific URL for the event

    • The URL can be updated when the specific page is created

Titles:

  • Use event title (PM@BU, Campus Visit Weekend, etc)

Location:

  • If multiple locations/rooms, use starting location

    • Event starts in BGH, then breakouts in 4 classrooms, and ends with lunch in the DC...
    • Should be listed as Benson Great Hall

Athletics

Times:

  • Start and end times are entered as the same time

  • 9th Street Entry Gallery has specific hours due to off campus location.

Titles:

  • Artist: Title of Work (ie Dale Johnson: Drawing into Painting)

Holidays

Times:

Description:

Notes:

  • Days between Christmas day and New Year's day should be named "Christmas Break"
  • List "Thanksgiving Day" and "Day After Thanksgiving" - there should be no "Thanksgiving Break"

Music Concerts

Times:

  • Start and end times are entered as the same time

Titles:

  • Should include "Concert" in the title

Short Titles:

  • Junior Recital

  • Faculty Recital

Description:

  • The Department of Music will present specialty Student Name, student of Professor, in Senior Recital. (ie ...present guitarist Nathan Cornelius, student of David Crittenden, in Senior Recital.)

Concerts

Short Titles:

  • Should include "Concert" in the title (ie Guy Penrod in Concert, Vettern College Choir Concert)

Theatre

Times:

  • Start and end times are entered as the same time

Titles:

  • Title of production (ie The Madwoman of Chaillot)

Category:

  • Arts & Performances: Theatre Department
  • Arts & Performances: Benson Great Hall (if in Benson Great Hall)

Location:

  • Bethel Theatre
  • Benson Great Hall

Description:

  • 1-2 short sentences
