Process for New Web Projects

Wiki Tools

Adding a new service for your audience? Changing the way your services are offered?

There are all kinds of reasons for expanding, changing, or re-evaluating your web content.

What's considered a new project?

There's no hard and fast rule on what projects Silva authors should tackle solo and what's something Web Services would like to advise or guide. But we're usually a good place to start for almost anything except routine edits.

If you're an author who works on sites used by external audiences, here's a list of things we'll help advise you on:

  • Reorganizing or rewriting a section of webpages
  • Crafting new webpages
  • Adjusting site navigation
  • Scheduling photos or creating video
  • Adding new web forms

Here's how you can request a new project:

  1. Contact the Silva author in your office or department.
  2. Silva author gathers some details from you like:

    1. What info do you have to communicate?
    2. Who is it for?
    3. When does it need to be communicated by?
  3. Silva author submits a job request to web-services@bethel.edu.
  4. Web Services evaluates request, communicates with anyone else in Communications & Marketing that might be involved in the project, and outlines next steps.
