The ability to sort a Silva gallery is found on the edit/tab_settings page for the gallery ( e.g <gallery_name>/edit/tab_settings ). When you navigate to the tab_settings page you will see the sorting selections for a Silva gallery (see figure 1). The sorting options are drop down lists. Select the sort attribute and the sort direction for your gallery and click the save button. When you open or refresh your gallery, the sort order and direction will exist as you saved them.

Sort Options
-
Title
- When title is selected, the sort order of the gallery is determined by the image title. The image "title" is the title given to the image in the Title box when the image is created in the gallery. Title is an optional property when the image is created. If the image has no title, the sort order will remain unchanged. The image title is displayed in the Title box on the gallery image edit page <gallery_name>/edit. (see figure 2)
-
Image ID
- When Image ID is selected, the sort order of the gallery is determined by the Image ID. Image ID is the id that is entered when a gallery image is created (file uploaded to the gallery). This can be the title that the image acquires from the camera or a file name from your storage media. Image ID is a required property when the image is created in the gallery. The Image ID is shown above the image in the gallery image edit display <gallery_name>/edit. (see figure 2)
-
Creation Date-Time
- Sort order of the gallery is determined by the creation date-time of the image. The creation date-time is fixed by the camera when the image is actually taken. It is transferred to the gallery as a property of the image. Creation date-time is the default sort order for a gallery. It is shown to the far right of the image information after the "created" keyword in the gallery image edit display <gallery_name>/edit. (see figure 2)
Sort Direction
-
Ascending
- Ascending sort order means top to bottom (e.g. A-Z, 1-9 ). When the sort option is creation date-time, ascending means earliest to latest.
-
Descending
- Descending sort order means the reverse of ascending or bottom to top ( e.g. Z-A, 9-1). When the sort option is creation date-time, descending means latest to earliest.
