I
am a Sophomore at Bethel College. I am an Elementary Education Major
with a preprimary specialty (minor) at Bethel. I have always wanted
to be a teacher, and have a love for children that is unexplainable.
There is something about watching a child learn and interact with others
just makes me smile. As a young girl I did a lot of baby sitting
for neighbors and friends, which sparked my interest in children.
I love the out doors and could spend
hours at a time just sitting under the stars at night. Something
about looking up into heaven is just amazing. I especially like to
be outside in the Fall when the leaves are changing colors. It is
definitely the most beautiful season. God has created a wonderful
thing and I am glad that He has given me the opportunity to enjoy it.
I am the youngest of three children, yet I am the tallest. My sister
Teresa is 27 years old and working at a family owned bank in Rosemount.
My brother is 26 years old and he is working full time at Fed Ex.
I am not very close to my siblings, but everyday we are becoming closer.
I have two wonderful parents
that love me and care about me. They have both been there for me
through every situation that I have faced.
My mom and I
are more like friends than mother and daughter. Whenever I have a
problem I know that I can go to my mom, for help and a shoulder to lean
on. My mom is the greatest mom in the whole world.
My dad and I
are so much a like that it is almost scary. We do everything in the
same manner, and I think that is why we get along so well. My dad
is a golf-a-holic and that is the only thing that we do not agree on, mostly
because I can't swing a golf club to save my live.
In
my life there are some essential friends that have brought me to where
I am today. My best friend Britt and I have been friends for 19 years.
We have so many memories together and everyday there is a new memory added.
At the moment we are distanced from each other, but that doesn't mean a
thing to us. We could be a part for a year and we would still come
back knowing that we both loved each other so much. I miss her a
lot though. We laugh about silly things whenever we are together.
Suzanne and
I met in June of 1998 and became instant friends. We always have
fun together and have some funny stories that involve broken down cars.
Our favorite place to go is Minnehaha Falls. We walk back on the
trails and have a special rock in the middle of the river that we sit on
and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
I came to Bethel
in August of 1998 and had no idea what was going to happen, but I met a
very close friend here at Bethel. Holly is my closest friend at Bethel.
We are so honest with each other that it makes our friendship even stronger.
Holly and I are a like in more ways than one, for instance we love pranks.
Especially if we are the prankster's. I love her to death.
Friends are
greatest thing in the world. They are always there for me when I
need them and they care about me even when I am in the worst of moods.
I
love the idea of e-mail. It is the easiest, fastest, and cheapest
way to keep in contact with my friends, family, and even get my emotions
out. I can sit in my room for hours just e-mailing people without
getting board. I feel that it is important to keep in touch with
people that aren't at the same College as I am, but I do e-mail people
on Bethel campus as well.

I think that the best day of my life was on October 1, 1998 when I was able to stand up and be a Godmother. My Godson, Jackson Lee was born on September 1,1998 and three weeks later my cousin asked me if I wanted to be his Godmother. I was honored and excited to know that someone thought of me for such a special job. Jackson is very special to me because I am taking partial responsibility for him as he grows up. This was the happiest day for me because I feel that God is taking me and my faith and using me in a new and exciting way.
