Student Idea Grants

The Work with Purpose Initiative of Bethel Seminary awards Student Idea Grants to enrolled Bethel Seminary students in St. Paul, San Diego, and elsewhere. These grants are designed to encourage students to develop and implement practical projects related to faith, work, vocation, economics, and/or whole-life discipleship. 

Who is eligible: All currently enrolled Bethel Seminary students

Award amounts: $200 to $1,000 per proposal

Proposal goals: Projects must be completely implemented by December 31, 2018, and pursue the following goals:

  • Demonstrate biblical and theological grounding as it engages congregants in practical issues of faith, work, and economics
  • Develop materials and/or knowledge within a church setting in ways that contribute to the student's personal and pastoral formation
  • Inspire change in the church that leads people to see their ordinary work as a place of extraordinary discipleship, stewardship of gifts, and service to the world
