Biography

Dr. Aryn Baxter is an international educator, researcher, and program evaluator who works at the intersection of international higher education and international development. Her mission is to enhance the capacity and commitment of individuals, teams and institutions to create a more just, peaceful and sustainable world by informing and expanding access to transformative global learning opportunities. Her research interests include ethical internationalization, scholarship programs, university partnerships, and engaging students as partners in international education. Most recently, as Executive Director for International Programs at the University of Idaho (2019-2020), Dr. Baxter led efforts to expand access to transformative global learning and engagement opportunities and advance comprehensive internationalization. Prior to this role, she directed the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and was a faculty member in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. Dr. Baxter has lived and worked in multiple countries, including Egypt, Switzerland, Haiti, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Mali. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Comparative International Education Society and holds a master's and doctorate in Education Policy and Administration with a focus on Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy getting outside whenever I can to hike, bike, camp, ski, etc. I love traveling and visiting new and familiar places with friends and family. I also enjoy playing piano and practicing yoga.
