Biography
Franklin is a conductor of broad experience having worked extensively in both orchestral music and opera. He is currently the Music Director and Conductor of the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis and has guest conducted with numerous groups including: the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, and for the Washington Opera. He is also the former Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor of the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.
He is a nationally-recognized composer with commissions and performances from the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, VocalEssence, Nashville Symphony, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Kansas City Symphony, Cedar Rapids Symphony, Washington Opera, Chanticleer, and the Dale Warland Singers. In addition, Franklin is also currently the conductor of the Macalester Wind Ensemble and the Macalester Symphonic Band at Macalester College.
