Hannah Johnson

Alumni and Family Relations Specialist

Bethel has been a part of my story since I was born. I am a legacy kid, with more Bethel alumni in my family than I can count on my fingers.

Following in my family's footsteps, I graduated from Bethel with a B.A. in Organizational Communication - Event Management, and a minor in Spanish, in the spring of 2017.

Why I love what I do

What I love about my job is the opportunity to hear the stories of alumni, students, and families who have chosen to make Bethel part of their own unique stories. I am blessed to be able to build relationships with people from all different backgrounds, whose rich stories allow me to catch a glimpse of the work of God's hands on this earth.

My life as a Bethel student

I was the student who had her hands in almost everything. I practiced in the RC Gym with the Royals volleyball team my freshman year. I spent countless hours sitting in Pastor Laurel's office excitedly planning new student opportunities. I ran under the flood lights on the football practice field for Powder Puff. Participating in Welcome Week, Homecoming, and the Office of Student Life as an R.A. allowed me to cheer my peers on and lose my voice, repeatedly, for a good cause. With each activity, I built friendships I will cherish for a lifetime.

My guiding scripture verse

Many verses throughout Scripture have, during different seasons of my life, served as guides for me. One chapter in particular, Psalm 139, has especially guided my faith journey.

Psalm 139:7 declares, "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?" I am continually encouraged that God never leaves my side. In verse 14, I am reminded that I am uniquely crafted, made for a purpose. Finally, verses 23 and 24 have been my prayer, for God to reveal to me the places of my heart I have hidden so I can surrender them into His loving hands.

In my free time

When I'm not working, I love spending time with family and friends. Specifically, I love outdoor adventures - running, biking, hiking, exploring hidden coves. My favorite place in the world is my cabin, where I can spend time on the water, riding through the trails with my siblings, or reading a good book.
