Event Description
Within the whole of the biblical narrative—Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation—we see work as a central feature of God’s engagement with the world. God, as a worker, has made us in His image and called us to work. Work is an integral aspect of God’s mission to redeem the world. But what does it look like to move from a biblical and theological vision for work, to actually changing the way we approach our work as ministry? How might a church community be practically transformed by and empowered with a biblical vision of work and whole life discipleship? What does it take to get this vision into the very DNA of a church community?
Crosswinds Community Church, of Stillwater, MN, has wrestled with these questions and more. Special guest Robert Olszewski, Family Life Pastor, will share with us what the process has looked like for the Crosswinds community. The conversation will be facilitated by Justin Irving, Professor of Ministry Leadership and Director of the Work with Purpose initiative.
It is one thing to agree that faith-work integration is an integral and necessary part of God’s work in the world. It is another thing altogether to see this vision transform a community. We hope you’ll join us to hear from one church community that has taken the challenge to heart.
