Event Description

As recently as 30 years ago, one would have been fortunate to see an osprey in the Twin Cities. Now there are nearly 100 pairs that nest here on an annual basis. This presentation delves into data that have been logged over 3 decades on osprey numbers and nesting, asking: What sorts of nest sites do ospreys use, and how have the numbers been changing? Is there rhyme and reason to why they place their nests where they do? Does osprey age matter with regard to their productivity? Do adults nest on the same site year after year?
