Event Description

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

"Disciple means 'Learner.' Matthew 28:18-20 calls us to make disciples, or 'make learners,' people who devote their lives to learning from Jesus. A learner is devoted to acquiring knowledge by inquiry, observation, and listening with a view to adherence and application. Learner is not the same as learned--Jewish leaders were learned, the 12 and others were learners." Inspirational words from Mark McCloskey, Lead Faculty and Professor of Transformational Leadership, guide our professional development plan for the 2018 fall retreat as we envision what it means to be a community of faculty Called to Discipleship.
