Event Description

Do you wonder what your everyday life and work have to do with God's activity in this world? Do you find yourself asking  about the meaning of the ordinary? You are invited to join other women for a discussion about pursuing your work with a view toward God's calling.

During the past year, Bethel Seminary San Diego has been hosting gatherings for women who want to think biblically and theologically about their work. This event focuses on encouraging one another to see our work as vocation. Enjoy lunch and fellowship, and participate in small-group sharing as well as time for thinking about what's next.

About Our Facilitator

Bethel Seminary alumnus Shannon Vandewarker will lead our conversation. She is passionate about helping people find God in their ordinary, everyday lives. This passion was fueled during her years of study as she earned her B.A. in Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University and a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary San Diego. As the Program Coordinator for Fuller Seminary's Cascade Fellows Program, Shannon worked with professionals in many different industries, helping them create a vision for whole-life discipleship and develop the disciplines for how to live out their faith at work. She lives in Escondido with her two young sons and husband Dan, who is a pastor at Orchard Community Church. Shannon writes and blogs regularly about faith and work topics at her website, Intentional Living Amidst Ordinary Life.
