Professional Development Sessions: Both sessions will be held from 7-8 pm and again from 8-9 pm.

  1. Serving our students and others with disability and/or mental health needs

Panel discussion with the presenters from the February 9 Faculty Development Workshop morning sessions. This is a time for faculty to ask questions, seek advice, and elicit feedback from the information presented at the February workshop. This session includes a brief summary (5 minutes) of each February presentation followed by an opportunity to ask questions.
Presenters: Kara Fifield, Miriam Hill, and Jennifer Nelson

  2. Breaking emotional barriers and cultivating a growth mindset

Although more complex than this description, the growth mindset philosophy is basically that people can learn a given task/skill if given the correct strategies and if they have the grit to persevere and acquire them. Being smart, successful, and/or talented are not traits given at birth to some and unavailable to others.
    Presenter: Nathan Elliott
