Event Description

During this faculty development workshop, you will engage in interactive sessions focusing on developing strategies and resources to support the whole student.


7:45-8 a.m. | Breakfast
8-8:15 a.m. | Welcome, Prayer, Bethel Updates
8:30-9:30 a.m. | Breakout Session 1
9:45-10:45 a.m. | Breakout Session 2
11 a.m.-Noon | Breakout Session 3

Breakout Sessions:

  • Supporting Students' Mental Health | Miriam Hill, Ph.D., Director of Counseling Services
  • Self-Care for Faculty and Staff | Jennifer Nelson, Ph.D., Director of the GS Counseling Program
  • Beyond the Letter: Disability Accommodation in Higher Education | Kara Fifield, M.A., Director of Disability Resources and Services

Afternoon Faculty Development (optional): A light lunch will be provided for those who stay for an afternoon session.

  • Noon-4 p.m. | Shalom II Training | Ruben Rivera, Ph.D., Chief Diversity Officer
  • Noon-2:30 p.m. | Locating Open Educational Resources (OER) & Library eResources Workshop | Earleen Warner, MLS, Research and Instruction Librarian, Coordinator of Zero Cost Course Resources Initiative
    • The OER workshop is geared toward programs currently going through course redesign. Faculty in those programs will receive a separate email and invitation provided by Earleen Warner. Please contact Earleen ( if you did not receive an invitation but would like to attend.
