Event Description

This is a review course to provide concentrated instruction just prior to taking the AMCB Certification Exam to become a certified nurse-midwife. The presenters, Dr. Cara Busenhart and Dr. Melissa Stec, have been presenting this same content at the annual ACNM Conference for many years. We cannot guarantee successful certification by AMCB with your attendance. However, we look forward to helping our attendees become better prepared for sitting for the AMCB certification exam.

Based on the results of the recent Board Review survey, we will be offering only the two-day option. The two-day review course with extra content and practice will be held on March 30-31, 2020, and will cost $300. Please register below so we are assured of having the minimum of 20 people attending.

Every year, students have requested more content so we encourage you to register for the two-day review and register early!

Dr. Melissa Stec is an Associate Professor of Nursing and the Program Director for the DNP program at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Dr. Stec has a BS in Biology and Microbiology and a BSN from the Ohio State University. She completed her MSN in Midwifery in 2005 from Vanderbilt. She returned to Vanderbilt for a DNP that she earned in 2010. In 2015, she was inducted as a fellow in the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She has been active with ACNM as the chair of the Division of Education for the past three years. Dr. Stec was the managing editor of the ACNM Exam Prep Review Book from 2012 through 2016 and has been coordinating and teaching the onsite exam prep for the past four years.

Dr. Cara A. Busenhart joined the Kansas University School of Nursing faculty in February 2009 where she was named the director of the Nurse-Midwifery Education Program at the University of Kansas. She is a volunteer Attending Provider at JayDoc Free Health Clinic, Women's Health Initiative Program, where she provides care to vulnerable populations. Cara recently completed her Ph.D. at the University of Kansas School of Nursing.
