Amy Osterman, flute
Symphony No. 3 in c minor, Op. 78 ("Organ")
Minneapolis flutist Amy Osterman received a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from Wheaton College and a master’s degree in flute performance from Indiana University. At Indiana University she studied with Thomas Robertello and was an artist fellowship recipient. During her time in graduate school, she performed as the principal flute in the Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra and had the opportunity to play alongside faculty member Jorja Fleezanis in Indiana University Opera Theater’s performance of Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier. She has previously studied with Julia Bogorad, Michele Frisch, and Jen Brown, and has played in masterclasses held by Bonita Boyd, Jasmine Choi, and Walfrid Kujala. Osterman has performed at the Eastern Music Festival and Aria International Summer Music Academy and has performed locally in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and the Bloomington Civic Theater Orchestra. She teaches flute privately and is on faculty at the Academy of Music at University of Northwestern St. Paul.
