Royal Run FAQs

Royal Run Color Station 2015

FAQs

Is The Royal Run timed? The Royal Run is not an officially timed race, but we will have a clock at the finish line for you to check your pace at the end of the run.

Will the color ruin my clothes or shoes? The color will wash out from clothes if you prefer not to keep it as a permanent badge of honor. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better but we suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful (like your new, Royal Run T-shirt).  If you'd like to preserve the color in your running shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it.  If you wash your shirt the color will eventually come out.

Can I volunteer to help out if I’m a current student? At this time, we are reserving our volunteer positions for Bethel alumni and community members.

Are there refunds? Unfortunately, we won't be able to issue refunds due to the nature of registration. If for some reason you can’t make it to the race, we'll still be able to get you your registration packet to you after the event. Email erin-vansickle@bethel.edu if you've registered but your plans have changed.

Will the race be canceled if it rains? We'll be running rain or shine. After all, a little drizzle never stops a Royal! In the event of severe weather warnings, stay close to your email for updates.

Could I be allergic to the color powder? The main ingredient in the color powder is cornstarch, so if you have a corn allergy, please contact us to determine if you might be in danger of an adverse reaction.

Can I register my child and bring them in a stroller? We’d love for you to bring your entire family to the event! However, there may be a couple of things to consider before you decide to run with your tyke:

  • Most of the run is paved, but there is one area where you will need to navigate around stairs.
  • You may want to consider additional protection to keep the powder out of your child’s eyes/face (and our color volunteers will be careful about this too)!
  • To ensure children have the most fun with their color and remain safe, they must not be left unattended during any part of the event.
