Attend Bethel Events with suite when on duty. Facilitate development of community by planning at least one group activity for your suite per month. Remind students to complete skills on individual Home Living/Self-care checklists. Two housing mentors will be hired as live-in support for each suite, with each mentor living in the suite full-time. Housing mentor will also serve as primary contact for conflict resolution or crisis management. Housing mentor will include RA, RD and/or supervisor to help with conflict or crisis management, if needed. Attend weekly mentor meetings with supervisor, attend monthly mentor meetings as part of ongoing training and complete weekly reports. Other duties as assigned.

The focus of this job is to work as a mentor/tutor in an after-school program for children grades K-5 who live or go to school in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Working with 2-4 students per day giving academic support, homework help, and relationship building. Joining in with students for snack and play time, gym time, computer lab. Keeping a written log of daily activities and progress of the students worked with. Our program, After School @ Central, operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-6:00p.m. No experience is necessary, but an affinity for children and youth and a desire to befriend and mentor youth is extremely valuable. Student will need to be able to drive to St. Paul.
