Bethel Funding Resources

The Bethel University Foundation wants to help secure funding for your department, project, and research needs. We’ll come alongside you to explore potential grants, guide you through the fundraising process, or help you pursue a Bethel University Foundation Strategic Growth Award.

Funding Types

Grants

Is a grant right for my project?

  • One grant can fund entire project/program
  • Requires research to find the right partnership institutions
  • Process is lengthy and based upon individual foundation/corporate annual grant cycle rotation (each organization has their own timeline)
  • The Office of Foundation Relationship (Corporate and Foundation Grants) or the Office of Sponsored Resaeerch and Projects (Government Grants) assists with the grant process
  • A signed Contract Agreement and reporting requirements are required
  • Some grants are funded across multiple years and are renewable
  • Funder can request a refund of all or part of the grant if agreement requirements have not been met

Fundraising

Is fundraising right for my project?

  • Multiple donors are usually required to fund a program/project
  • Donation asks can begin immediately upon approval process completion
  • Project begins when the set benchmakr for funds received is reached
  • Depending on size of project, marketing may be involved to increase donor awareness of the project/program
  • Development Officer will be assigned to assist in fundraising
  • No reporting requirements

Strategic Growth Awards

Is a Strategic Growth Award right for my project?

  • Funding for Bethel University programs and projects only
  • Application and projects must be under the supervision of faculty and staff
  • Current award priority given to projects that enhance enrollment and student affordability
  • Funding sought should be within the financial range proposed ($35,000-$50,000)
  • Application may be for one year or multiple years

Before Pursuing Funding

  1. Contact Pamela Bunchanan, grants manager for the Bethel University Foundation
  2. Obtain initial approval from your supervisor
  3. Complete a grant or fundraising Request to Initiate form
