When Laura Hainlen ’79 arrived at Bethel as a freshman, she had no idea that Bethel would play such a significant role in the rest of her life.
“I met my husband Tom ’76 at Bethel, my oldest daughter met her husband (Mark Hanson ’06) at Bethel, and both our daughters (Christina Hainlen Hanson ’05 and Rebecca Hainlen ’07) are Bethel graduates,” she says.
“For more than 15 years, it’s been a joy and privilege to work alongside caring and committed colleagues who have a passion for serving God and a dedication to Bethel’s mission.”
During the recent “Taking the Next Step” Campaign, Laura was blessed by the faithfulness of Bethel’s alumni, parents, and friends.
“I was grateful to be part of the comprehensive resource campaign that provided funding for the beautiful Brushaber Commons, which will be a Bethel landmark for generations to come,” she says.
As students, Laura and her husband Tom were involved in music and had the privilege of participating in several Festival of Christmas concerts.
“At the time, Festival of Christmas was held in the Robertson Gym,” she recalls. “Twenty five years later, it was a delight to be part of the audience and watch our two daughters participate in the beautiful Benson Great Hall.”
