My Bethel experience goes back some 40 years. Not only did my wife, Marleen ’72, and I both graduate from Bethel, so did our three children (Ben ’96, Joel ’99, and Becky ’01). My longevity as a staff member (30 years over a 39-year span) at Bethel translates into valuable historical perspective as well as knowledge and relationships with many Bethel supporters. In addition, I have a strong service orientation, thanks to previous work in retail management.

My favorite part of my job is...
I love my job because I feel like I’m contributing to God’s greater purpose of advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ through the lives of our graduates.

My guiding Scripture verse is...
Genesis 48:15–16: “May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully,
the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has delivered me from all harm—may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly on the earth.”

Outside of work...
I am active in my church and other ministries and enjoy woodworking, biking, golfing, and spending time with my eight grandkids.
