Nursing Education is about more than preparing tomorrow’s nurses. It's about responding to today’s healthcare environment.
Bethel’s online Certificate in Nurse Educator is designed for students with a baccalaureate or advanced practice nursing degree who want to develop expertise as educators along with their current role. With the reality of the nursing faculty shortage and the constant changes in healthcare, opportunities for nurse educators are growing. Tomorrow’s nurses will need experienced nurse educators who can prepare them well for nursing roles.
A nurse educator certificate will open new opportunities for you to train the next generation of nurses, teaching them to think critically and respond to patient needs with competence and compassion. Through integration of hands-on activities, our graduates leave prepared to teach nursing in pre-licensure and degree-completion programs.

Teaching from a Christian worldview
We weave Christian faith into all our courses, recognizing the need for professionals to take the time to develop on-the-job skills and fulfill a sense of personal call that leads to a lifetime of meaningful work.
Reputable nursing program
Bethel’s Department of Nursing is among the best in Minnesota at preparing nurses for caring and knowledgeable service. Our Nurse Educator program is an integral part of a Christian faith-based nursing program that began in the early 1980s.
Small cohort sizes provide the personalized attention that will help you thrive as a nurse educator student.
Our professors are doctorally prepared nurse educators who conduct active research in academic, healthcare, and community settings; write and contribute to nursing textbooks; and teach nursing around the globe. They’ll connect you to the nursing community and help you network with career opportunities in your area.
A highlight of the program is the opportunity for hands-on learning through field experiences almost every semester. We’ll provide you with experiences that fit with your career goals and schedule so you gain practical skills in facilitating learning, evaluating curriculum, and using today’s information technologies to teach nursing concepts.
The Nurse Educator Certificate will prepare you to teach in nursing programs. You’ll also gain the skills to work in staff development or patient education roles.
