ITS supplies and supports equipment, software, and file storage to faculty and staff to assist your role at Bethel.

Software

Bethel computers have software resources to assist you in your role. You can request additional software based on your needs.

If you would like additional software to be installed in a classroom or a lab, fill out the classroom or lab software request form.

For personally owned computers, faculty and staff can get a reduced rate on Microsoft 365 University through the Microsoft Home Use Program.

Equipment

If you think you are eligible to replace your Bethel owned computer, fill out the Employee Computer Request form. When your computer reaches a certain age, you will receive an email letting you know it is eligible to be upgraded over the summer. The Desktop team will schedule a time with you to upgrade your equipment.

Each classroom contains an instructor station with teaching and learning technology resources.

Information Storage at Bethel

Staff and faculty are encouraged to store work related files on campus servers, never on a computer hard drive or personal storage devices. You are given 1GB of storage space in your personal drive and may request additional storage space as needed.

Departments also use shared folders for collaborative files. Access to these folders are often controlled through groups. You can request access to these groups using Identity Access Management (IAM).

You may also store information on Google Drive, an online document service that lets you create, store, share, and edit online documents, spreadsheets, and presentation files. Learn more about Google Drive.

Security

Keeping your computer and data safe is important. To protect your computer and network security from malware, spyware, scareware, viruses, and phishing schemes, check out tips on safe online practices.
