Research librarians help with finding information or using the library. You may see us in one of your classrooms, at the library’s research assistance desk, or meet us on the web. We have a 24/7 service that provides library and research help via online chat and dozens of online research guides.

Research Consultations

Research librarians meet one-on-one with students and faculty to provide extended, personalized assistance with:

  • Identifying appropriate research resources in which to search
  • Using effective searching techniques and strategies
  • Using the features of online indexes/databases
  • Using research tools like RefWorks
  • Correctly citing information sources

To provide self-service assistance with conducting research, research librarians have created research and instructional guides that can be accessed 24/7.

Research librarians serve as liaisons to Bethel’s academic departments and programs. The library liaison list will direct you to the appropriate librarian who can assist you with researching a specific subject or using subject-specific databases and resources.
