Royals Baseball Crowned Champions

Bethel’s baseball team wins its first-ever MIAC Championship.

Coming into a doubleheader against Hamline University, Bethel's baseball team needed just one win to secure its first-ever MIAC Championship. After a dramatic game that saw the Royals down six runs in the first inning, the team rallied to top the Pipers in game one and claim the 2015 MIAC crown.

The MIAC title comes after an incredible four-year stretch for the Bethel program under the direction of head coach Brian Raabe. In year one, Raabe helped Bethel return to the postseason for the first time in a decade. In his second year, the team won its first playoff game, and last spring, in Raabe’s third year, they reached their first MIAC Championship game. Now in year four, Raabe and a group of seniors have one more highlight to remember.

Bethel will close out conference play on May 3 in Winona against Saint Mary's. MIAC playoffs take place on May 8 and NCAA Division III National Playoff Regionals begin on May 13.
