Preparation for ministry at Bethel Seminary San Diego is both "in the classroom" and "in the field." We enhance the classroom learning experience with an internship that includes on-site support and mentoring.
The internship program is woven into the course curriculum. The director of supervised ministry will help each student map out an effective internship plan.
The internship is an eight-month experience working in a paid ministry position where you’ll immerse yourself in hands-on learning. Throughout the year, you’ll meet with your supervisor and support team to help you assess your progress along the way.
- 8 month internship - 400 supervised ministry hours for M.Div. and M.A. in Ministry in a paid position
- Peer reflection group meetings (in class)
- Site Supervisor meetings (at ministry site)
- Mentor meetings
Ministry Goals Consultation
Towards the end of the internship, all students take part in a ministry goals consultation to process their experience. We’ll review your assessments and help you set goals for what you’d like to pursue after graduation.
- Final exit interview
- Résumé review
