Seek God by serving over spring break in a cross-cultural context that fits your major or vocational interest.
March 11-19, 2017
SMP alumni Jeff and Tracey Dixon are the founders and lead developers of Students International's ministry in Costa Rica. S.I.'s ministry network is in the capitol city of San Jose. Each day after breakfast, students will be sent out to ministry sites in this bustling and beautiful city.
Vocare. It's Latin for "to call." Bethel students on this team will learn about God's particular call on their life from Nicaraguans and North Americans who are carrying out that call in a cross-cultural, kingdom context. A full list of sites is available online, but examples include art, medicine, dentistry, education, social work, and microfinance.
Our Ministry Partner
Facilitated by Students International.
This team of 15 students has a team fundraising goal of $31,000 (about $2,067 per person). Fundraising will be a major part of the year for this team, which will tremendously help the financial bottom line!
Who Should Participate
More cross-cultural ministry experience and proficiency in the Spanish language are helpful and valued in this team's selection process.
We will be intentionally matching Bethel students with available spaces on ministry sites based on vocational interest. The team does not spend all its ministry time in their vocational ministry site. We may also take part in other creative ministry programs as requested by our hosts, so we'll look for students with a desire and ability to be energetic, spontaneous, and adaptable.
Applications are open online from October 1 through November 1. Interviews are conducted in October and November of every year for the following spring.
