This is the main Welcome Week schedule for new students. Early arrivals: Please follow your group's schedule, then starting August 24, follow the schedule below.

Thursday, August 24

8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. (find your specific time) Move-In for New Students in Housing (by residence hall and by floor): We'll be ready to welcome you at your scheduled move-in time. Enter campus via the west entrance. An enthusiastic student team will be on hand to help!

1-4 p.m. New Commuter Student Check-in: We'll be ready to welcome you anytime during this arrival window. Enter campus via the west entrance. Arrival staff will direct you to parking.

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch: If you arrive in the morning or are already on campus, you have options! Enjoy lunch in our dining center during these serving hours, grab a to-go order from Royal Grounds (BC Level 2), or head off campus to eat. All meals in our dining center are $12 per person during Welcome Week (siblings under 5 are free). If you have a meal plan, swipe your ID card.

4:15-6:30 p.m. Lakeside Picnic: Stop by anytime to enjoy several food stations. Students are covered under their meal plan and families eat free! Don't forget to bring a picnic blanket.

9-10:30 a.m. Core Group Meeting and Tour: Your core group is your Welcome Week family unit. It includes about 15 other students and is led by upper-class students.

This meeting includes a resource tour. You'll visit all the must-know places on campus.
10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. Commissioning Service: This time of worship and encouragement is for all new students and families. We will celebrate this new beginning in your life!

12-1:30 p.m.

Core Group or Family Goodbye Lunch: Use this time to say goodbye to your family. You may eat with your core group in the dining center or have lunch with your family on or off campus. Your family may purchase lunch in the dining center for $12 per person (siblings under 5 are free). If you have a meal plan, swipe your ID card.

1:30-2:30 p.m. Academic Connection 1: Attend both sessions! Learn academic details about a major and a minor—or two majors you're considering. If you're exploring majors, attend the Exploratory Majors session at 1:30 p.m. and another session of your choice at 3:15 p.m. You'll meet faculty and advisors who can answer your questions. Bring your class schedule. Hallway hosts will help you find your location.

4:30-5 p.m. Math Placement Help: If you have questions about math course placement or the math placement exam, meet with your precalculus or calculus instructor or see Jed Yang, Ph.D., in Clauson Center (CC) 311. Multilingual Learner Support: If you're a multilingual learner, support services are available to you. Drop by the Academic Enrichment & Support Center (AESC; HC324) for further support. You may also refer to the Multilingual Learners website.

Come meet new and returning students, hear words of encouragement from student leaders, enjoy desserts, dance, and celebrate the diversity at Bethel. We encourage those who would like to celebrate and hear these stories to join us!

9-11 p.m. Movie on the Lawn: After a busy day, bring a blanket and settle in to watch a movie with your new friends, hosted by Bethel Student Government.
