Move-In (by residence hall and by floor): We will be ready to welcome you at your scheduled move-in time. Please enter campus via the west entrance. An enthusiastic student team will quickly move your things!

4:45-7:15 p.m. Lakeside Picnic and Kickoff Celebration

Lakeside Picnic: Enjoy a complimentary outdoor picnic! Family members eat for free, and new students are covered under their meal plan. Come anytime during your designated picnic window. Start by getting a plate outside the CLC south doors, then visit the food stations in any order. Relax on the lawn or bring your food indoors.

Kickoff Celebration: Consider this your official welcome to Bethel! Join us for a big welcome from the Welcome Week staff, President Barnes, student leaders, and more. This is a great way to begin your time at Bethel! Arrive 15 minutes early to get a good seat.

To give you the best possible welcome experience, we've divided the incoming class into two groups for the picnic and kickoff:

Blue Group: Students living in Nelson, Edgren, and Lissner
     4:45-6 p.m. | Picnic | West Lawn 
     6:15-7:15 p.m. | Kickoff | Benson Great Hall - Community Life Center (CLC) Level 1

Gold Group: Commuters and students living in Arden Village, Bodien, Getsch, Heritage, North Village
     4:45-5:45 p.m. | Kickoff | Benson Great Hall - Community Life Center (CLC) Level 1
     6-7:15 p.m. | Picnic | West Lawn
8 p.m. Residence Hall Meeting: Meet and mingle with hallmates at this fun, mandatory meeting.

9-10:30 a.m. Core Group Meeting: Your core group is your key to success during Welcome Week! Your group includes 15-20 other new students and is led by an upperclass student. This meeting includes a resource touryou'll visit all the must-know places on campus. Transfers, there's a special session designed just for you in CC313.
Core Group Locations
10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. Commissioning Service: Led by the Campus Ministries team, this is a highlight for families and students. Join us as we pray over you and dedicate your time at Bethel to the Lord.
Benson Great Hall
12-1:30 p.m. Lunch and Family Goodbye: Use this time to say goodbye to your family or have lunch with your core group.

1:30-2:30 p.m.

Academic Connection 1: You must attend at least one session (1:30 or 3:15 p.m.). You're encouraged to attend both (check out two majors or your major and a minor). Bring your class schedule. Also learn about the General Education program and meet your advisor. Not sure about your major? Choose two you’re interested in, or attend the Exploratory Majors session.

Optional Advisor Help: Advisors will stay in their Academic Connection location to meet you and answer your questions. If you are exploring various majors and want general advising help, see Daniel Sibert, Advising Specialist, in HC113.

3:15-4:15 p.m.

Day of Service: Join other students to serve the Minneapolis community. You’ll receive shift and site details when you arrive on campus.
Meet in the CLC Circle to take a bus to your service location.

7-9 p.m. Koinonia Worship Service: A Greek word meaning "communion" or "fellowship," koinonia is a service that brings the entire Bethel community together. As a body, we will worship, be challenged by faculty and student speakers, and take communion in a celebration and dedication of the upcoming school year.
