This is the main Welcome Week schedule for all new students. Early arrivals: Please follow your group's schedule, then starting August 25, follow this schedule.

Thursday, August 25

8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. (find your specific time) Move-In for New Students in Housing (by residence hall and by floor): We'll be ready to welcome you at your scheduled move-in time. Enter campus via the west entrance. An enthusiastic student team will be on hand to help!

1-4 p.m. Arrival for New Commuter Students: We'll be ready to welcome you anytime during this arrival window. Enter campus via the west entrance. Arrival staff will direct you to parking.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Info Central: Please stop here to get important check-in materials and your ID card. This is also the place to get answers and directions. Your family will check in too!

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch: If you arrive in the morning or are already on campus, you have options! Enjoy lunch in our dining center during these serving hours, grab a to-go order from Royal Grounds (BC Level 2), or head off campus to eat. All meals in our dining center are $9 per person during Welcome Week (siblings under 10 are free). If you have a meal plan, swipe your ID card.

Lakeside Picnic: Enjoy this complimentary picnic for all new students and their families. Come anytime during your designated picnic window.

Kickoff Celebration: Consider this your official welcome to Bethel! Join us for a big welcome from Welcome Week staff, President Allen, student leaders, and more. 

To give you the best possible welcome experience, we've divided the incoming class into two groups:

Blue Group: Students in the BUILD Program; students living in Nelson, Edgren, Bodien, and Lissner
     4:45-6 p.m. | Picnic | Monson Dining Center
     6:15-7:15 p.m. | Kickoff | Benson Great Hall—CLC Level 1

Gold Group: Commuter students; students living in Arden Village, Getsch, Heritage, and North Village

     6-7:15 p.m. | Picnic | Monson Dining Center
8-9 p.m. Commuter Student Kickoff Celebration: Meet other commuter students and learn about opportunities to engage in campus life.

7-8:30 a.m. Breakfast: If you're living on campus, your options include breakfast in the dining center during these serving hours, a to-go order from Royal Grounds (BC Level 2), or breakfast with your family on or off campus. 9-10:30 a.m. Core Group Meeting and Tour: Your core group is your Welcome Week family unit. It includes about 15 other students and is led by an upperclass student. This meeting includes a resource tour. You'll visit all the must-know places on campus.

10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. Commissioning Service: This time of worship and encouragement is for all new students and families. We will celebrate this new beginning in your life!
Benson Great Hall—Community Life Center (CLC) Level 1
12-1:30 p.m. Lunch and Family Goodbye: Use this time to say goodbye to your family. You may eat with your core group in the dining center or have lunch with your family on or off campus. Your family may purchase lunch in the dining center for $9 per person (siblings under 10 are free). If you have a meal plan, swipe your ID card.
     12 p.m.: Core groups 1-11
     12:15 p.m.: Core groups 12-22
     12:30 p.m.: Core groups 23-33

1:30-2:30 p.m. Academic Connection 1: Attend both sessions! Learn academic details about a major and a minor—or two majors you're considering. If you're exploring majors, attend the Exploratory Majors session at 1:30 p.m. and another session of your choice at 3:15 p.m. You'll meet faculty and advisors who can answer your questions. Bring your class schedule. Hallway hosts will help you find your location.

Optional Advising Help: Faculty will stay in their Academic Connection locations to meet you and answer your questions. If you are exploring majors and want general advising help, stop in Advising Central (Hagstrom Center (HC) 113).

3:15-4:15 p.m.

Academic Connection 2: Attend both sessions! Learn academic details about a major and a minor—or two majors you're considering. You'll meet faculty and advisors who can answer your questions. Bring your class schedule.

4:15-5 p.m. Optional Advising Help: Faculty will stay in their Academic Connection locations to meet you and answer your questions. If you are exploring majors and want general advising help, stop in Advising Central (Hagstrom Center (HC) 113).

4:30-5 p.m. Math Placement Help: If you have questions about math course placement or the math placement exam, meet with your precalculus or calculus instructor or see Professor Patrice Conrath in Clauson Center (CC) 311. You may also refer to the math placement webpage or email Professor Conrath at conrath@bethel.edu.
4:30-5 p.m. Multilingual Learner Support: If you're a multilingual learner, stop by to meet Kristen Nichols-Besel and find out about support services available to you. You may also refer to the Multilingual Learners website or email Kristen at kmn39985@bethel.edu.

7-8 p.m. Cultural Connections Dessert: If you're a new student who identifies as Black, Mixed, Indian, LatinX, Asian, Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Indigenous, or Native American, this event is for you. Meet other new and returning students, hear words of encouragement from a few student leaders, enjoy dessert, and celebrate the diversity at Bethel.
The Underground—Brushaber Commons (BC) Level 2
8-10 p.m. Movie on the Lawn: After a busy day, bring a blanket and settle in to watch Monsters University with your new friends.
