Michael Opheim

Degree: Computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, and history

Michael Opheim is one of the rare Bethel students to pursue four majors. It represents his passion for learning—and the opportunities Bethel offers for customizing your education and gaining experience. Originally drawn to medical school, Michael discovered a passion for using computer science and software engineering to serve as a pathway into tech-centered medical careers. As he’s found mentorship from his professors, and a professor recommended him for a high-performance computing internship with the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C.

Beginning in the 2025-26 academic year, tuition for the College of Arts & Sciences will be $25,990—down from $44,050.
