ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the second year in a row, Tim Madson (Sr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) and Mike Moberg (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) have earned spots on the College Sporting News Preseason All-MIAC team.

Madson, a 6’1” guard, was the conference’s leading scorer in 2006-07 when he averaged 20.2 points per game and finished second in the league last year with an average 20.6, making him one of just three players in the conference to average better than 20 points per game.  His heroic buzzer beating three-point shot against Augsburg in the final game of the season helped Bethel earn their 10th consecutive trip to the MIAC playoffs.  Madson finished the season with 573 points, which is the seventh best single season performance in school history.  Earlier this season, Madson eclipsed the 1,300 point mark and now has 1,323 through last week's game against the University of Minnesota-Morris.

Moberg led the MIAC in blocked shots (52), while scoring 14.5 ppg and grabbing 9.1 rebounds per game during 2007-08. He finished third in the conference with 231 rebounds, and fourth in field goal shooting percentage, making nearly 55% of his shots.  The starting center already has two double-doubles and is averaging 16.5 points in Bethel's first four games.
