Acting President, Seminary of the East

A retired consultant for non-profit organizations, Baur is a member of the board of directors for numerous organizations, including Tasty Baking Co., PrimeSource Corp., Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and World Evangelical Fellowship, where he is also vice chair of the North American Council.

Lyn S. Brown

Librarian

Brown has 12 years of experience in library administration. He is a member of the American Library Association, the Association of Christian Libraries, the American Theological Library Association, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Theological Library Association, and the Association of College and Research Libraries. Brown also is involved in the music ministry of a local church and provides consulting services for Bible colleges and institute libraries.

Wyndy Corbin

Corbin served as a missionary to Japan and worked in human resource management for a Christian social services organization before joining the pastoral staff of a church; there she worked in the areas of outreach and singles ministry. She taught human resource management, ethics, and cross-cultural communication at Eastern College, St. Davids, Penn., before coming to Seminary of the East in 1997. Corbin is currently finishing her doctoral work in Christian social ethics at Drew University, focusing on the church's role in society, justice, and moral formation. She is a member of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Christian Ethics, and also serves on the advisory board for the Center for Emerging Female Leadership.

Cheryl D. Gregg

Registrar and Director of Admissions

B.A., Eastern College

Gregg came to Seminary of the East in the school's first year of operation. She has served in various capacities at the seminary, including director of administration, director of public relations, registrar, director of admissions, and curriculum review committee member. Gregg teaches workshops on leadership development, communication, and organizational mission and vision. She recently completed a research study on leadership development in the local church, and currently is finishing her master's of education in instructional design at Pennsylvania State University.

Wayne S. Hansen

Professor of Theology and Church History

Hansen came to Seminary of the East in 1992 from The King's College, where he taught as an adjunct professor in Greek and Christian doctrine. Prior to that, he served for 18 years as the founding pastor of Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church in Connecticut. He also served as interim pastor to several inner-city Baptist churches during his doctoral studies. Hansen has been a missions conference speaker in Reutte, Austria, and a lecturer on soteriology and pneumatology at the Russian-American Christian Institute in Obninsk, Russia. He has written several articles as well as a book review of The Works of Jonathon Edwards, Vol. 16: Letters and Personal Writings in the journal Church History: Studies in Christianity & Culture.

Richard F. Kantzer

While a graduate student, Kantzer was active in the student-led movement of the Yale Christian Fellowship and, with Huaiching, his wife, the Cornell Chinese Bible Study. He served in Connecticut as an active church lay member, then as assistant pastor for West Haven Evangelical Free Church. He is licensed for the Christian ministry by that national fellowship. Kantzer and his family are members of Central Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey.

An associate, executive, and senior pastor for more than 25 years, Keith has developed small group, one-on-one, prayer, and singles ministries. He has also served the Northeast Conference as a trustee and as director of church renewal. Pastor of a New England church since 1990, Keith has been involved with Seminary of the East since its earliest days, mentoring a student from the second graduating class. Keith has taught tennis, speed-reading, support development, evangelism, and healthy church seminars. As a member of Campus Crusade for Christ, he focused on management trouble-shooting and training new staff in support development and maintenance. During those years, he became involved in a local church and caught the vision of developing disciple-making churches. Keith seeks to enhance the lives of others by connecting them to those who will maximize their gifts and abilities for more effective ministry.

Brian C. Labosier

After beginning college as an engineering student, Labosier followed God's leading into seminary training and vocational ministry. He pastored in upstate New York, and for 12 years in a multicultural church in inner-city Philadelphia. He also served as a consultant for the Institute in Basic Life Principles. Labosier began teaching at Seminary of the East as an adjunct professor in 1987 and served for two years as the seminary's director of mentoring. His passion is to glorify God through teaching, preaching, and equipping the body of Christ. His ministry emphasizes God's majesty, sovereignty, and grace, and how these truths can transform our lives today in direct and relevant ways.

Fernando J. Otero

New York Center Director

Before joining Seminary of the East, Otero worked for 15 years in the financial services industry on Wall Street. He has served bi-vocationally with several New York City churches as a Sunday school superintendent, youth pastor, and director of evangelism, and has also ministered full time with Teen Challenge Inc., in Brooklyn. Along with his duties at Seminary of the East, he presently serves as full-time director of education for a church in the northeast section of the Bronx. Otero's passions are to teach Greek, Hebrew, and Latin to inner-city residents; to advocate for the use of social service programs in local churches; and to assist educational institutions in preparing future leaders for the ecumenical and multicultural ministries of the 21st century.

Tyrone A. Perkins

Perkins is pastor of a church he planted in 1988, Westside Bible Baptist Church in Trenton, N.J. He also is the associate director for urban/ethnic concerns of the MidAtlantic Conservative Baptist Association, where he oversees urban/ethnic church planting and ethnic diversity issues. Perkins has taught the life of Christ and evangelism and discipleship in the degree completion program at Philadelphia College of Bible. He graduated from Seminary of the East in 1997 and was subsequently hired as its Philadelphia Center director.

Ridder's involvement with Seminary of the East began in 1986, when he agreed to mentor a student. He has taught as a ministry-based faculty member in pastoral theology since 1988. He served on the seminary board from 1990 to 1998, and as a member of the management team from 1997 to the present. A pastor for 20 years, Ridder now serves First Baptist Church of Newtown, Pennsylvania. One of his great loves is mentoring students who are preparing for ministry; numerous Seminary of the East students have completed their internships at his church and now serve churches in New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, and Naples, Italy.

John E. Worgul

Before coming to Seminary of the East in 1987, Worgul taught at Manna Bible Institute in Philadelphia. He has been associated with Seminary of the East almost from the beginning and over the years has been actively involved in shaping the curriculum, particularly in the area of spiritual formation. Worgul is committed to integrating spirituality with his academic discipline as he teaches the Old Testament. He and his family participate in a Christian community formed to live together in worship, service, study, and prayer.

Dennis O. Wry

Associate Vice President for Development, Bethel Seminary of the East

After spending four years with the American Bible Society and 10 years in business, Wry joined Wycliffe Associates, the lay involvement ministry of Wycliffe Bible Translators. For 13 years he was responsible for Wycliffe Associates development activities in the Northeast, and ultimately served as director of development for the organization's national events ministry. In 1999 he joined Seminary of the East with responsibility for leading its development activity. Wry's passion is for the training and nurturing of Christian leaders. He also serves Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon, Connecticut, as part-time director of outreach.
